THE COTTAGE

“With a national park, vineyard and one of England’s greatest coastlines on its doorstep, the Sussex village of Alfriston has it all.” - Daily Telegraph

HISTORY

A grade II listed historic cottage, that dates back all the way to the 1700s.

Flint Cottage is located on the iconic North Street in Alfriston, where in past times the street was known locally as ‘up the bricks’ due to there being a brickworks further up the road.

FRONT BEDROOM

The front bedroom at Flint Cottage features elegant floral wallpaper, a luxurious original brass and cast iron double bed and dark stained original floorboards. A calming space punctuated by period features with reclaimed bespoke joinery and painted in complementary neutral tones to lend the room an understated simplicity.

REAR BEDROOM

The rear bedroom faces the garden side of the cottage and continues with the theme of floral tones, as well as period features that include vintage Bakelite dimmers, antique three-quarter length mirror and original marble-top French bedside tables all adding to this room’s authentic charm.

KITCHEN & DINING ROOM

The newest addition to Flint Cottage is the dining area, featuring traditional black and terracotta chequerboard tiles, a vintage farmhouse table and snug velvet armchair. A perfect space, that leads through into the kitchen, to get together to eat, drink and make conversation.

BATHROOM

A little nod to the art deco style here with jade green brick slip tiles throughout, antique brass tap ware and a wet room themed shower.

SITTING ROOM

The sitting room offers a comfortable space that includes an Aga wood burning stove as its centrepiece, linen covered French armchairs, café curtains and of course a comfy velvet sofa that you can sink into.

EXTERIOR & GARDEN

The garden has been redesigned to offer a simple courtyard space, with vintage wrought iron table and chairs for those occasions in the warmer months where you feel you want to dine al fresco or just simply enjoy a drink outside. There is a Morso barbecue for you to get cooking with, and in the not-so-warm months, a wood burner should you wish to gather round and get cosy.
